The activity is part of the experimental project "The wolf trails in the upper Val d'Orba" in collaboration with the #EnteParcodelBeigua, in application of the monitoring protocols on the wolf tested with the #ProgettoCorem.
TECHNICAL AND LOGISTIC DATA:
Meeting point: 09.40am Alta Val d'Orba (different locations of the Municipalities of Tiglieto and Urbe depending on the season - possibility of buying packed lunches in craft bakeries at meeting points).
Duration: Full day
Difference in height: from 150 to 250 mt (depending on the seasonal itinerary)
Difficulty: Medium
Recommended equipment: layered clothing, trekking shoes, camera.
Booking: within 5.00 pm of the day before the excursion.

The Wolf diary
"Starting in 2015, Escursioniliguria.com starts its adventure in Alta Val d'Orba by organizing trekking and outdoor experiences immersed in uncontaminated and wild nature.
​
The mountains and the woods of Beigua area indeed preserve a naturalistic heritage of incredible richness in terms of biodiversity.
​
In 2016 the idea: to propose to the Beigua Natural Park a collaboration that included the fusion of eco-tourism and data collection through guided excursions during which hikers become protagonists of research for the monitoring of the wolf in the area.
​
Thus was born the project "The paths of the wolf in Alta Val d'Orba", in application of the monitoring protocols on the Wolf tested with the #ProgettoCorem"
DATA COLLECTION
​
Geolocation of the traces of the wolf from 2016 to 2019 carried out with the collaboration of the participants in the guided excursions and collection of video material through phototrapage with photo-trap active all year round thanks to the tourist activity.

THE EXCURSION

The trekking program foresees:

-Technical Briefing concerning to the biology and ecology of the wolf and data collection techniques.

-Trekking in Alta Val D'orba with Certified Hiking Guide
-On-field data collection.
​
-Viewing videos concerning to the area of interest and snack at the local tourist accomodations.
